Connect Options allow you to customize how an unattended access session starts and behaves. You can configure the client interface, remote sound, RDP connection, desktop appearance, privacy, and stream quality before connecting to a remote computer.

Note: All the options listed below are available when connecting to a Windows computer. For macOS, Linux, and Android devices, only the options supported by the respective operating system are displayed.
The following Connect Options are available:
- Connect to existing RDP session: Connects to a selected existing RDP session on the remote computer. Runs a lightweight version of ISL Light without the full graphical user interface on the remote computer.
- Small footprint of ISL Light: Runs a lightweight version of ISL Light without the full graphical user interface on the remote computer.
- Stream Remote Sound: Streams audio from the remote computer to the operator’s computer. This option cannot be used together with Download client.
- Minimize remote interface: Minimizes the Connection Box in the bottom-right corner of the remote screen when the session starts.
- Leave background on remote desktop: Keeps the existing desktop background visible during the session. By default, the background is replaced with black to reduce bandwidth usage and restored when the session ends.
- Download client: Downloads the full ISL Light Client GUI. This may slightly increase the initial connection time. The full client includes additional features, such as a separate chat window, Share My Screen, and the option to invite another operator. By default, ISL AlwaysOn uses a lightweight client that provides the Connection Box and chat on the remote computer and supports Stream Remote Sound.
- Block remote input: Blocks mouse and keyboard input on the remote computer when the session starts. The remote user can restore input by pressing the Esc key.
- Enable black screen: Blacks out the remote computer’s screen during the session to provide additional privacy when accessing an unattended computer.
- Stream quality: Select the preferred stream quality from the dropdown. Quality Optimized is selected by default.
Note: The selected Connect Options remain the default for all unattended access sessions initiated by the logged-in user, across all unattended computers, until they are changed again.
When connected to a computer through ISL AlwaysOn, the operator and the remote user can use the Connection Box in the bottom-right corner of the screen to chat and drag and drop files. By default, received files are saved to the desktop.
Connection Tray Icon
In addition to the Connection Box, a tray icon appears when an operator connects to your computer without downloading the full Client GUI:
- Hover over the tray icon to view the connection status, including the ISL AlwaysOn version, computer name, ISL server status, alias, and IP address.
- Left-click or right-click the tray icon to access the following options. Double-clicking the icon opens the ISL AlwaysOn interface:
- Open ISL AlwaysOn: Opens the main ISL AlwaysOn window, where you can manage your computers and settings.
- Settings: Opens the ISL AlwaysOn settings.
- Active sessions: Displays all active sessions and provides options to switch to or close them.
- About: Displays the installed ISL AlwaysOn version and provides options to check for and download updates.
- Switch on/off: Enables or disables Remote Access, Desktop Sharing, and File Sharing.
- Quit & Disconnect: Closes the application, disconnects it from the server, and ends all active sessions.
