Improvements
ISL Conference Proxy - Administration - Show list of objects that will be removed on delete (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-1764] More
DescriptionWhen deleting a user from the Administration interface, domain admins can now see a list of associated data that will be removed along with the account, grouped by category with counts. Only categories that have associated data tracking enabled for users, and are configured to be deleted with the user, are included in the list. By default this is limited mainly to the user account itself.
ISL Conference Proxy - Administration - Self-service customizations dashboard (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3669] More
DescriptionDomain administrators can now manage ISL Light customizations from a new dashboard under the administration module, available at /users/customization. From the list view you can create, duplicate, reset, and delete customizations, and mark one as the default for the domain. Each customization is scoped to a single domain, and only one can be the default at a time — marking a new one as default automatically clears the flag on the previous one.
Each customization covers branding (name, logo, icon, key visual, and primary/secondary/button text colors) and a set of ISL Light session options, including login behavior ("forgot password", "remember me"), visible tabs ("join a session", "sessions tab", "computers tab"), "stream quality", "black screen" with a configurable timeout, "automatic recording", "lock computer" on session start/end/connection loss, "transport options", and URLs to open on session start and end. Uploaded images must be PNG or JPG and no larger than 2 MiB.
2 new permissions were added:
- "Manage customizations (domain admin only)": Grants access to the Customization Dashboard, where domain customizations can be viewed, created, updated, and removed. Customizations may be applied to the entire domain or to selected users. Disabling this setting removes access to the Customization Dashboard. Please note that the user must already have the Domain Admin role to use this feature (see the "Domain Admin" setting).
- "Enable domain customizations (server administrator only)": Controls whether domain customizations are available for this domain. When enabled, Domain Admins can access the Customization Dashboard (if they have the appropriate permissions). When disabled, the Customization Dashboard and all related settings are unavailable for this domain, regardless of Domain Admin permissions.
The Customization dashboard is available in web version v2500 and later.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Action on customization domain or integrator_key mismatch (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3762] More
DescriptionA new setting "Customization ownership enforcement" has been added to /conf -> Security, which determines the enforcement behavior when a client attempts to start or join a session using a customization that originates from a different domain or was created by a non-matching integrator. None allows the mismatch silently (set by default), Report logs the mismatch, and Block rejects the session outright.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - integrator_key on program_custom (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3770] More
DescriptionCustomization ownership enforcement now supports matching by integrator key in addition to domain. When "Customization ownership enforcement" is set to "Block" or "Report", a user may use a customization owned by another domain if their integrator key matches the one assigned to the customization. Domain match still takes precedence; if neither the domain nor the integrator key matches and at least one of these fields is set on the customization, the session is denied. When enforcement triggers (block or report), the log entry now includes the actual values of SESS_USERINTEGKEY and SESS_CUSTOMINTEGKEY.
ISL Conference Proxy - Administration - Add "delete user" functionality to administration module (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3780] More
DescriptionAdministrators can now delete users directly from the Administration module, with safeguards against accidental data loss. The delete action is blocked for your own account and for the main account owner, and it will also be blocked if the user owns any computers or computer groups.
When deletion is blocked due to owned resources, the confirmation dialog shows "Manage Computers" and "Manage Computer Groups" links that open the corresponding tabs with an owner filter already applied to the user being deleted, so you can reassign or remove those items and then retry the deletion. The delete user button is available in web version v2500 and later.
ISL Conference Proxy - Administration - Add "delete computer" functionality to administration module (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3793] More
DescriptionDomain administrators can now delete computers directly from the Administration module. The "Delete Computer" action is available as a primary button on the computer details page and as a custom action in the computer list sidebar, and shows a confirmation dialog before the computer is removed.
The action requires both domain administrator and computer editing permissions. Users without the required permissions will see the action disabled with a tooltip explaining why. Each deletion is recorded in the audit log along with the computer description and its previous owner.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - ICP rework UI for file storage (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3808] More
DescriptionThe File storage pages in Server Administration have been reworked. The per-server "Ver. on N" columns are replaced by a single "Server status" column that shows a short summary (present, old, missing counts); clicking a cell opens a popup listing the server IDs grouped by file version, with a separate "Missing on:" section when applicable. Both the local and remote file tables now support a substring file name filter and pagination (default 50 per page, with 25/50/100/500 options).
On modules pages, files in the remote table are now selectable through a new "Select" column, and per-server deletion has moved into a "Delete from servers" picker below the table, matching the existing "Copy to servers" control: tick the files, tick the target servers, and click "Delete selected" to remove the files from only those servers.
ISL Conference Proxy - Integrator - Customization export (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3817] More
DescriptionIntegrators can now export a customization as a zip file through the new API call "integrator/system/customization/export/1". The call takes the customization UUID and returns a download URL that remains valid for 5 minutes.
To use this call, the JWT key must have both the existing "system_integrator" right and the new "customization_export" right, which grants permission to export customizations.
ISL Conference Proxy - Administration - Customization JWT events (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3820] More
DescriptionISL Conference Proxy now sends JWT webhook events when customizations are created, updated, or deleted, in addition to the existing user and domain events. This applies to changes made through both the server administration pages and the web API, so external systems can track the full lifecycle of a customization.
Three new toggles are available under Integration, JWT webhook hooks: "Customization Create" fires when a new customization is added (whether created manually or uploaded as a zip), "Customization Update" fires when an existing customization is modified and includes the changed fields in the payload, and "Customization Delete" fires when a customization is removed. Each toggle can be enabled independently and all three are off by default.
[INTERNAL] ISL Conference Proxy - ISL AlwaysOn - Add in memory client simulation (FEATURE) (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3832] More
DescriptionThe ISL AlwaysOn module can now simulate large numbers of connected clients for load testing purposes. This is controlled by a new developer flag "ISL AlwaysOn simulator config" (disabled by default).
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Use seperate fields for web server internal error logs (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3837] More
DescriptionInternal web server error logs now record their details in separate structured fields (such as client IP, request URL, referrer, HTTP method, user agent, and error description) instead of concatenating everything into a single error message.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core Login - Enable persistent login (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3845] More
DescriptionSupport for end-to-end persistent login for browsers and supported native applications was added to ISL Conference Proxy.
New settings added to /conf -> Security -> Authentication:
- Allow "Stay logged in":Controls whether users can remain logged in across application restarts. When disabled, "Stay logged in" ends immediately for everyone, including users who already had it active, and all users must log in again. (default: Yes)
- Allow "Stay logged in" for SSO and external users:Controls whether users authenticated through Single Sign-On (SSO) or an external identity provider (such as LDAP) can use "Stay logged in". Disabled: After the current session expires, the user must log in through the identity provider again. Limited to idle lifetime: "Stay logged in" remains available only for the configured idle lifetime, measured from when it was originally issued. Using "Stay logged in" does not extend this deadline. Enabled: Each successful use of "Stay logged in" renews the idle lifetime, up to the configured maximum duration. Important: When this setting is enabled, disabling or deleting a user in an external identity provider does not immediately revoke existing "Stay logged in" sessions. To prevent further access, also disable or delete the user in the web portal. (default: Disabled)
- "Stay logged in" idle lifetime (1w 2d 3h 4m 5s):Defines how long a user can remain inactive before "Stay logged in" expires. Each time the user returns, the idle timer is reset. If the user does not return before the idle lifetime expires, they must log in again with their credentials. (default: 2w)
- "Stay logged in" maximum duration (1w 2d 3h 4m 5s):Defines the maximum amount of time "Stay logged in" can keep a user logged in, measured from when it is first used. Returning to the application resets the idle timer but does not extend this maximum duration. Once the limit is reached, the user must log in again with their credentials. (default: 365d)
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Copy web pages v2500 to v2600, set v2600 as default (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3866] More
DescriptionWeb pages v2500 were copied into new version v2600, which is now the default version.
ISL Conference Proxy - ISL AlwaysOn - Add RPC long execution warnings to AON chan (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3868] More
DescriptionISL Conference Proxy now logs an "rpc call long execution time" event when an ISL AlwaysOn client RPC request takes unusually long to handle on the server. The event is logged with Warning severity when a call takes 2 seconds or more, and with Critical severity when it takes 15 seconds or more.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Use ISL Light URL schema to Join a session on join web page (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3870] More
DescriptionOn the Join a Session page and the Join as Operator invite page, if ISL Light is already installed on your machine, it now launches directly instead of making you download a fresh installer each time. On the join page the launch is attempted as soon as a valid session code is typed or pasted and the page shows an "Operator is waiting for you" view with Download, Connect in Browser (where allowed), and a "Launch application" button to retry the launch. If nothing picks up the link within a couple of seconds, a "Couldn't open the application. Please download and install it below." hint appears above the Download button.
URL scheme used for the launch can be overridden per customization by setting the "ISL Light installation schema" field in customization setting which sets a custom scheme name (for example, acmesupport) so joiners of that customization launch the branded client instead of stock ISL Light. Values are normalised to ASCII letters, lowercased, and must be 5-16 characters; invalid entries fall back to isllight and are logged.
ISL Conference Proxy - ISL Meeting - Improve error message when grant control fails in Meeting screen share (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3877] More
DescriptionWhen sharing a single window in a meeting and attempting to give or grant remote control, the error dialog now explains the actual problem. The title reads "Remote control is not available for window sharing" and the message instructs the user to stop sharing and share the entire screen instead of a specific window.
Previously these attempts failed with the generic "Error occurred. Please contact your system administrator." dialog, which gave no indication of what to do next. Sharing the entire screen and granting control works as before.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Read universal apps program for MacOS (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3878] More
DescriptionISL Conference Proxy can now distinguish Apple Silicon Macs from Intel Macs when serving downloads, actions and plugins. Programs can be published with an "arch" tag listing one or more architectures (for example "arm64;x86_64" for a universal build, or a single value for an architecture-specific build), and clients receive the native build matching their machine whenever one is available. When no native arm64 build is published for an Apple Silicon Mac, the matching x86_64 build is offered instead. Native builds always take precedence over this fallback.
ISL Conference Proxy - ISL Groop - Add additional checks to data processing (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3882] More
DescriptionData validation in ISL Groop was strengthened.
ISL Conference Proxy - ISL Light - Save session performance data (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3885] More
DescriptionISL Light sessions now report performance data (connection timings, stream and view metrics, transport type, quality settings) back to ISL Conference Proxy, where it is stored on the session record for both the operator and client side. After a session ends, the full performance timeline is available for later review alongside the other session details.
Log entries recording the reported performance data are now written at Informational severity instead of Debug, so they appear in standard logs without having to raise verbosity.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Split Session Code (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3886] More
DescriptionSession and grant codes are now displayed as groups of three digits separated by spaces (for example, 12345678 appears as 123 456 78). This affects the join portal input field, the Sessions list and session details in ISL Light, the Add Remote Computer dialog and session details in AlwaysOn, and the Code columns in Light, Groop, and Meetings reports.
In the join portal, the input field reformats as you type or paste, accepting raw, spaced, hyphenated, or fullwidth-digit codes and normalizing them. When a code is submitted or copied via Copy Code or Copy Session Code, the raw digits are used with no spaces, so pasting a copied code into other systems works without manual cleanup. CSV and XLS report exports also contain the raw digits.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Accept and log client event reports (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3887] More
DescriptionISL Conference Proxy now accepts user-activity event reports from ISL Light sessions and records them in the server log.
Event reporting is tied to the log level of the "[ISL Light] Session MSG channel" log subsystem, which controls logging for the ISL Light session message channel. Reports are only accepted and written when this subsystem is set to "Informational" or more verbose; at "Warning" or lower, the server rejects the reports and clients stop sending them.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Upgrade Go to version 1.26.7 (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3893] More
DescriptionGo was upgraded to 1.26.7.
ISL Conference Proxy - ISL Light - Return operator name source in session info rpc (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3895] More
DescriptionThe session info returned to ISL Light clients when joining a session now includes an additional field indicating which operator account field the displayed name was taken from. Alongside the existing visible name, the client receives a source value of either "realname", "nickname", "email" or "username". This lets the client show or handle the operator's name differently depending on where it originated, for example distinguishing a real name from a fallback to the username when no other information is available.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Improve Meeting starting and ending procedure (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3896] More
DescriptionReduced unnecessary internal processing when starting and ending meetings. This has no visible effect on meeting behavior or licensing.
[INTERNAL] ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Add dev flag to enable domain/admin/user/remove/1 (FEATURE) (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3914] More
DescriptionA new developer flag "Register WebAPI2 domain/admin/user/remove/1" is available. When set, it re-registers the older WebAPI2 call domain/admin/user/remove/1, which was removed in a previous change.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Set 4xx requests coming from public internet to Notice level (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3931] More
DescriptionHTTP 4xx responses from clients on the public internet are now logged at Notice level in the "[Core] HTTP requests (incoming)" log subsystem. Previously these could show up as Critical or Error, which produced noise from routine scans and broken links hitting the public-facing server.
4xx responses from intranet clients are still logged as Critical.
ISL Conference Proxy - Administration - ICP web version setting filtering (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3937] More
DescriptionDomain and user administration settings can now be filtered based on the web interface version in use. Settings that do not apply to a given version are hidden, and sections that end up empty are omitted entirely.
This applies to the persistent login settings introduced earlier, which are now shown only in web version 2600 and later.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Upgrade OpenSSL to 3.5.9 (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3939] More
DescriptionOpenSSL was updated to 3.5.9.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Strip spaces from session codes in WebAPI2 session/query handlers (FEATURE) [ISLCONFPROXY-3940] More
DescriptionSession code lookups through the WebAPI now tolerate spaces in the supplied code. You can pass a session code with leading, trailing, or embedded spaces, and the server will strip them before validating and locating the session.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Set and use hrsv hint when making webapi calls (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-2148] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, in multi-server setups a web API call could be handled by a different server than the one that served the page, which in some cases caused the request to fail or behave incorrectly. This was redesigned, so that web API calls are now directed to the same server that served the originating page. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - Administration - User password set from "Administration" tab does not accept characters that are accepted under "Users" tab (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3620] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, setting a user password from the Administration tab rejected certain characters that were accepted when setting the same password from the Users tab. This was redesigned, so password validation now behaves the same way in both places, including checks for password strength and recently used passwords. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core Login - internal/security/login/tfa/state/full/1 improvements (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3629] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, requesting two-factor authentication state information for a user who had never logged in returned a generic internal error that did not explain the situation. The response also included an internal field that was not needed. This was redesigned, so that a clear message is now returned when the user has never logged in, and the unnecessary field is no longer included in the response. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Use iterator instead of operator[] for "skipspolicy" check (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3734] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, certain operations that checked session policy parameters took longer than necessary to process. This was redesigned, with the parameter lookup reworked to run more efficiently. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Cleanup customizations/ on successful upload (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3737] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, customization archives placed in the customizations folder remained there after being uploaded and applied, which caused alert messages and configuration errors on the next restart because the customization already existed. This was redesigned, so that these archives are now removed automatically once they have been uploaded and applied successfully. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - ISL AlwaysOn - Slow db flushing sends email and uses unstructured logs (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3838] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, when ISL AlwaysOn objects were slow to flush to the database, administrators received email alerts and the related log entries were hard to parse. This was redesigned, so slow flushing is now reported through a dedicated structured log entry and no email is sent, while the flush itself processes more items per batch and no longer stops early when items remain queued. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - ICP will report "grid file transfer connection closed" with "notice" log level when transferring files (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3854] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, server logs would show "grid file transfer connection closed" entries at notice severity during normal file transfers between grid servers, which could be mistaken for a problem requiring attention. This was redesigned, with these routine connection close events now logged at info severity. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Fix sanitize program query (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3855] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, when a request to a program URL (such as /programs, /start or /download) was written to the web hit log, the entire query string was replaced with a single asterisk, so administrators could not see which command line or parameters had been used. This was redesigned, and the log now keeps the query string readable while masking only the sensitive parts such as passwords and web tokens. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - ISL Meeting - Audio feedback loop when Steam Remote Sound is enabled (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3862] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, sharing your screen with the "Also share system audio" option enabled caused a local audio feedback loop, where the shared audio was captured again and played back repeatedly. This was redesigned, so that the local preview of your own shared screen no longer plays its audio back through your system. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Software policy and version support for ISL Meeting mode (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3863] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, administrators could not have the default meeting application vary by region without manually configuring each user or site. This was redesigned, so that when no explicit default has been chosen, the default meeting application can now be determined by the software release policy, while any explicit administrator or user choice still takes precedence. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - ISL AlwaysOn - Fixed a rare crash in AON worker thread (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3871] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, the server could crash in rare occasion while handling an ISL AlwaysOn user access object. This was redesigned and the issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - License usage start of hour slot flush task can cause deadlock (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3872] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, starting an ISL Light session could cause the server to crash due to a watchdog timeout. This was redesigned, so that the license usage processing no longer conflicts with new session starts. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Files created directly on filesystem are not correctly loaded by ICP filesystem and are marked as restoring (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3875] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, files copied directly into a file storage folder on disk were not picked up correctly and remained stuck in a restoring state, and files whose version metadata was corrupted could also stay unusable even when the actual data was intact locally. This was redesigned, so that files found on disk without valid version information are now adopted as a new local copy and shared with the rest of the grid, while corrupted version data in local-only storage areas no longer prevents the file from being used. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - ICP Download page downloads old version of ISL Tester on MacOS (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3880] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, Safari users on macOS were served an outdated version of ISL Tester from the ICP download page instead of the current release. This was redesigned, so the download page now correctly identifies the macOS version for Safari visitors and offers them the latest ISL Tester build. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Decode elevation session on redirected server (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3881] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, performing a session elevation (such as confirming your password to access two-step verification settings) could fail with an "Unhandled exception in WEBAPI2 call" error when the request was handled by a different server in the grid than the one holding your session. This was redesigned, so the elevation step now correctly loads the session on whichever server processes the request, and invalid sessions return a proper login error instead of an unhandled exception. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Conference Proxy - Core - Split short and long term packet cache limit hit logs (DEFECT) [ISLCONFPROXY-3888] More
DescriptionIn previous versions, when packet generator cache size limits were hit, a single log line was produced that did not distinguish between short term and long term cache limits, making it unclear which limit needed to be adjusted. This was redesigned, so that separate log lines are now written for short term and long term cache limit hits. The issue should no longer be reproducible.
