Improvements
ISL Light - Desktop - Add meta info to chat plugin about user text or generated text (FEATURE) [ISLLIGHT-6978] More
Description
Chat messages now carry additional information about whether the text was typed by a user or generated by the system. System messages no longer open the chat window on their own, and the original text is kept alongside translated messages.
ISL Light - Desktop - Replace "Desk" with actual name where possible (FEATURE) [ISLLIGHT-7169] More
Description
Chat messages now show the operator's actual name instead of the generic "Desk" label. The displayed name is taken from the operator's full name, nickname, email or username, in that order; if the remote side does not provide this information, "Operator" is shown.
ISL Light - Desktop - Update linter, so it catches cases in components where height is not set (FEATURE) [ISLLIGHT-7559] More
Description
An additional check was added to the internal code checking tool used when building ISL Light. It reports a warning when a container element has child elements but no height defined, which previously could result in those elements not being displayed.
ISL Light - Desktop - Improve feedback for requesting remote desktop (FEATURE) [ISLLIGHT-7599] More
Description
Requesting to view the remote desktop now gives clearer feedback. The session view shows distinct screens with a progress indicator when the remote desktop is inactive, initializing, reconnecting or waiting for the remote user to accept the request, and explains why sharing is paused (for example when a UAC prompt or lock screen is active, or the remote user switched to another account). The operator can also cancel a pending request, and the request and its cancellation are noted in the chat.
ISL Light - Desktop - Add about in ISL Light Client while already in session (FEATURE) [ISLLIGHT-7621] More
Description
An About entry was added to the Tools menu in ISL Light Client during an active session, showing the application details. If the About window is already open, it is brought to the front instead of opening another one. The same behavior now applies to other windows such as Settings, Notification Center, File Transfer and Add Server.
ISL Light - Desktop - Interpret operator name (FEATURE) [ISLLIGHT-7641] More
Description
The name shown for the operator in session chat now depends on how it is defined in the account. The operator's name is displayed only when it comes from the real name field; in all other cases (nickname, email or username) the chat shows "Operator" instead.
ISL Light - Desktop - Add qml unittest for QT crashes (FEATURE) [ISLLIGHT-7653] More
Description
Added internal regression tests that verify list handling in the user interface, covering cases that previously caused the application to crash, such as the event log on Linux and macOS.
ISL Light - Desktop - Show Full Name instead of Operator in Request Desktop Dialog (FEATURE) [ISLLIGHT-7654] More
Description
When an operator requests to view or control the client's desktop, the confirmation dialog shown to the client now displays the operator's full name instead of the generic word "Operator". If the full name is not available, the dialog falls back to "Operator".
ISL Light - Desktop - Add custom Mutter backend (FEATURE) [ISLLIGHT-7668] More
Description
On Linux systems running Wayland with GNOME, ISL Light can now use a native GNOME screen capture and remote control backend instead of the generic desktop portal. When this backend is available, desktop sharing and remote control start without the system screen sharing permission dialog. The generic portal backend is still used when the GNOME backend is not available.
ISL Light - Desktop - Add support for streaming of non-default DPI on Wayland (FEATURE) [ISLLIGHT-7673] More
Description
Added support for desktop streaming on Linux systems running Wayland with display scaling (non-default DPI). Scaled monitors are now shared at the correct size, monitor layout and scaling changes during a session are detected automatically, and the mouse pointer position on scaled monitors is reported correctly.
ISL Light - Desktop - Add encoding stage (FEATURE) [ISLLIGHT-7674] More
Description
Desktop streaming now measures an encoding stage for each screen update, so the session can track encoding time, transfer time, round-trip time and available bandwidth. These values are reported in the streaming statistics and the session log, which improves diagnostics of slow or unstable sessions.
ISL Light - Desktop - The Full name is not fully displayed (DEFECT) [ISLLIGHT-7491] More
Description
Users experienced an issue where a long user name shown above a chat message was cut off instead of being displayed in full. The width calculation of the chat message was redesigned and the name is now shown fully, unless it exceeds the maximum message width.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Light - Desktop - "Desktop sharing has been paused" window missing on local side when UAC window is present without Admin mode (DEFECT) [ISLLIGHT-7586] More
Description
Users experienced an issue where the "Desktop sharing has been paused" notification was not shown on the client side when a User Account Control prompt appeared while administration mode was not enabled. The functionality was redesigned and the issue is no longer reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Light - Desktop - Share Screen options window visual bug (DEFECT) [ISLLIGHT-7613] More
Description
Users experienced an issue where text labels in some windows and dialogs were split mid-word across lines at certain display scaling settings. Word wrapping was changed so that text now breaks between words instead.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Light - Desktop - Client title.title does not have information that this is client (DEFECT) [ISLLIGHT-7616] More
Description
Users experienced an issue where the ISL Light Client identified itself as "ISL Light" instead of "ISL Light Client". This was visible in the client session window title and in the Windows Explorer "Send to" menu entry used to send files to the client. The client now reports "ISL Light Client", including any custom product name and additional title text supplied on start.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Light - Desktop - Admin user can not select "X" button when elevated (DEFECT) [ISLLIGHT-7619] More
Description
Users experienced an issue where the window close (X) button was disabled in the ISL Light client window when a session was started with restart and resume armed, preventing the user from closing the window. The functionality was redesigned and the issue is no longer reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Light - Desktop - Send feedback ( Survey, What's new. Help & Manuals ) displayed in settings of ISL Light Client (DEFECT) [ISLLIGHT-7644] More
Description
Feedback related items (Send Feedback, Survey, What's New and Help & Manuals) were shown in the client side menu, although they are intended for the operator side only. These items are no longer displayed on the client side.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Light - Desktop - Event log causes crash on Linux/MacOS (DEFECT) [ISLLIGHT-7649] More
Description
Users experienced a crash of the application on Linux and macOS when opening the event log.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Light - Desktop - Video texture glitches (DEFECT) [ISLLIGHT-7652] More
Description
Users experienced display glitches in the remote desktop view when horizontal and vertical zoom levels differed, where the image appeared shifted vertically and the remote cursor click point was offset. In some cases the view could also stay white after it was re-created. The remote desktop image is now sent to the graphics card only when it changes instead of on every rendered frame.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Light - Desktop - QT fix a crash in model sync (DEFECT) [ISLLIGHT-7666] More
Description
Users could experience a crash of ISL Light when lists shown in the application (for example the computers or sessions list) were updated while items were being removed. The handling of list updates was corrected and the issue is no longer reproducible.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Light - Desktop - Add uinput option (DEFECT) [ISLLIGHT-7667] More
Description
On Linux systems running Wayland, keyboard and mouse input sent by the operator could be unreliable or rejected depending on the desktop environment. ISL Light can now inject keyboard and mouse input through the system input device when it is available, and falls back to the previous method when it is not. In order for the functionality to work the application has to be started using sudo in order for the application to gain access to uinput (unless the system is already configured in a way that user has access to uinput),
The defect was fixed.
ISL Light - Desktop - macOS 27 shows "Keychain Not Found" error (DEFECT) [ISLLIGHT-7669] More
Description
Users on macOS 27 experienced a "Keychain Not Found" error when ISL Light tried to store or read saved credentials. Handling of the system keychain was redesigned and the issue is no longer reproducible. Keychain access permissions granted to ISL Light are now preserved when the application is updated or reinstalled, so users are not asked to allow access again.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Light - Desktop - Skip disk part when calling hefa::create_directory_tree (DEFECT) [ISLLIGHT-7670] More
Description
Users experienced an issue on Windows where creating a folder structure also attempted to create the drive letter itself as a folder, which could fail with an error. Folder creation now skips the drive part of the path.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Light - Desktop - Disable direct connection after send packet too large in ISL Light (DEFECT) [ISLLIGHT-7671] More
Description
Users experienced an issue where a direct connection could fail when a sent packet was larger than the network allowed, which resulted in an interrupted or unstable session. The network packet size is now probed before a direct connection is established, and if the probe fails the session uses the server connection instead.
The defect was fixed.
ISL Light - Desktop - ISL Light in join mode restarts immediately when restart and reconnect is enabled (DEFECT) [ISLLIGHT-7672] More
Description
Users experienced an issue where ISL Light in join mode closed and restarted immediately after the operator enabled Restart and Reconnect in Administrative Mode. The session check no longer treats a not yet known console session as a mismatch, so ISL Light stays running.
The defect was fixed.
ISL AlwaysOn - Desktop - Add support for operator name (FEATURE) [ISLALWAYSON-2042] More
Description
Chat messages in an ISL AlwaysOn session now show the operator's name, username or email when it is available. If no name is available, messages from the operator side are labelled "Operator" instead of "Desk".
ISL AlwaysOn - Desktop - Add custom Mutter backend (FEATURE) [ISLALWAYSON-2103] More
Description
On Linux systems running Wayland with the GNOME desktop, screen sharing and remote control can now use a direct GNOME backend instead of going through the desktop portal. When this backend is used, no screen sharing consent dialog is shown on the remote computer. Monitor layout, scaling and rotation are taken into account when selecting the shared screen.
ISL AlwaysOn - Desktop - Add support for streaming of non-default DPI on Wayland (FEATURE) [ISLALWAYSON-2104] More
Description
Added support for sharing the screen of Linux computers running Wayland that use a display scaling other than 100%. The remote screen is now streamed with the correct resolution in these setups.
ISL AlwaysOn - Desktop - Add encoding stage (FEATURE) [ISLALWAYSON-2105] More
Description
Desktop streaming now reports encoding stage information during a session. The remote side sends markers at the start and end of each screen update, which lets the viewing side measure encoding time, transfer time, round-trip time and available bandwidth per frame. These values are also available in the connection statistics and logs.
ISL AlwaysOn - Desktop - ISL Conference Proxy setting - show operator's information to remote user- is ignored (DEFECT) [ISLALWAYSON-2002] More
Description
When the server setting that hides the operator's information from the remote user was enabled, the operator's username was still shown in the chat and session window on the remote computer. The name shown now falls back to a generic label when operator information is not meant to be disclosed.
The defect was fixed.
ISL AlwaysOn - Desktop - ISL Light Fast leaks chat in log (DEFECT) [ISLALWAYSON-2099] More
Description
Chat messages exchanged during a session with a remote computer were written into the local log file on the remote side. Chat content is no longer logged.
The defect was fixed.
ISL AlwaysOn - Desktop - Add uinput option (DEFECT) [ISLALWAYSON-2102] More
Description
On Linux systems running Wayland, keyboard and mouse input from the operator could be unreliable or not injected at all on some desktop environments. Input injection now uses the system input device interface when it is available, and falls back to the previous method when it is not.
The defect was fixed.
