Restart and Reconnect

 

Restart and Reconnect allows the operator to restart the remote computer while keeping the remote support session active. Once the remote computer finishes restarting, the session automatically reconnects.
 

Important: Before enabling Restart and Reconnect, you must first enable Administrative Mode. See the Administrative Mode article for full instructions.

 

How to enable Restart and Reconnect
 


Step 1
 

Click the Tools icon in the top bar and navigate to Administrative Mode - Enable Restart and Reconnect


Step 2
 

Select Enable Restart and Reconnect.

Once enabled, the following restart options become available:

  • Restart
  • Restart into Safe Mode
  • Force Restart
  • Force Restart into Safe Mode



Step 3


Select the required restart option. The remote computer will begin restarting. During the restart, desktop sharing is temporarily paused while the connection is being re-established.
 


 



Once the remote computer has restarted, the ISL Light session automatically reconnects. The operator can then continue working with the remote computer in the same session.
