Upgrading to new version

Hosted Service

ISL Conference Proxy releases apply to server license owners only 

Server License

Upgrades are free of charge for ISL Online Server License users with active Extended Support Service. ISL Online Server License users with expired Extended Support Service are welcome to purchase Extended Support Service in order to gain access to the newly released ISL Online Server system. In case you have extended ESS you will need to create new license file and upload it to your ISL Conference Proxy server.

Quick Instructions for users, who have installed ISL Conference Proxy 3.1 or later

  1. open web administration of ISL Conference Proxy http://localhost:7615/conf
  2. login using admin account
  3. click Online update link in left navigation
  4. click Apply changes if you have automatic install

Description

ISL software crash reports can now be uploaded automatically to ISL Conference Proxy to allow easier analyzing of the crashes.

Description

Description

Quick CPU/memory usage statistics logging can now be used to monitor excessive resource usage in ISL Conference Proxy log files.

Memory usage recorder for VMEM and handles More

Description

Memory usage recorder will now support Virtual Memory blocks and system handles.

SSL/HTTPS certificate cache More

Description

SSL/HTTPS certificate cache improves the speed of SSL handshakes. Important for large ISL AlwaysOn installations.

Verify software and translation uploads More

Description

Software and translation uploads are now verified at the time of uploads to prevent corrupt files to be used in ISL Conference Proxy at earliest possible time.

Use "www" in place of wildcard DNS indicator "*" More

Description

Installations of ISL Conference Proxy, which use wildcards "*" in the DNS name will now use "www" as default subdomain name instead of more confusing "x".

Web browser language variant support More

Description

Web browser language variant support gives user web pages important information about users' locales. For example, Germans and German speaking Swiss can now be distinguished.

Javascript AJAX API for login and session join More

Description

Preliminary support for AJAX API for login and session join is now available on /webapi/api.js?libs=join,login

Separate permission for user view/control active sessions More

Description

User view/control of active sessions permission set is now added among older domain and server-wide permission sets.

Better reporting of database file write failures More

Description

Better reporting of database file write failures will provide more important information in case of hard disk access problems.

DNS server DiG log recorder More

Description

DNS server supports output of DiG request log (see ISC BIND for more info about DiG), which replicates exact DNS queries, to help troubleshoot the installation.

DNS server overload handling More

Description

DNS server now handles overloads of requests by using a partial LIFO request queue instead of FIFO.

GeoIP database update More

Description

GeoIP database update.

System monitor hard disk usage More

Description

System monitor now includes hard disk usage (percentage of time spent doing reads/writes/both).

Defect fixes

Crash dump improvements More

Description

ISL Conference Proxy crash dumps on Windows now properly handle a much larger set possible failures, like pure virtual function calls and MSCRT violations.

Computer shutdown handling More

Description

A fix is provided for flushing all cached database data in memory, when the computer shuts down. Older versions did not always flush all database caches to disk.

More robust web session cookie handling More

Description

In some cases, web session data may leak memory for longer periods of time. Corrupt web sessions will now be deleted as soon as possible.

Robustness fixes: upper limit for mails, error reports and chat transcripts More

Description

Excessive memory and CPU usage was possible in case of very large error emails, reports and ISL Light chat transcripts. Upper limits were introduced to eliminate the problem.

Crash in web page generator More

Description

Fix is provided for problem on multicore CPUs, a crash might occur in user web page generator.

Crash in database memory indexer More

Description

Fix is provided for crash in database memory indexer.

Element absolute position Javascript library More

Description

Element absolute position calculation was fixed to support relatively positioned parents.

Problems with Windows networking More

Description

Several windows networking issues were fixed:

  1. unreliable packet ordering in IOCP - might cause Online update, File storage upload or Network time not to work correctly, proper ordering is now enforced
  2. ICMP port unreachable might cause DNS server to stop working, such messages are now ignored

Translations problem with "&" More

Description

A fix is provided for proper handling of "&" in GUI text translations.

Locale correction for Norwegian and Chinese simplified More

Description

Corrected date and time formatting for Norwegian and Chinese simplified in module Locale.
