Remote Desktop

Remote Desktop offers the following options:

  • Desktop Sharing
    • Leave font smoothing while sharing this desktop
    • Leave AERO desktop experience while sharing this desktop
    • Choose stream quality. Users with low broadband speeds are recommended to use speed optimized (quality optimized, speed optimized, full color, 64k colors, 256 colors, 64 colors, 8 colors, 64k color...)
  • Black Screen (curtain mode)
    • Enable black screen on session start
    • Delay clearing black screen (curtain mode) after pressing ESC (in seconds)
    • Allow the use of black screen (curtain mode) while sharing this desktop
  • Keyboard
    • Disable local inputs while sharing this desktop
    • Pass keyboard combinations unchanged
      • Enter key combinations to pass unchanged to the remote computer without being translated into a UNICODE character locally. This setting applies when using "Local Layout" in the keyboard settings. All keys must use the VK_prefix (e.g. VK_A for letters, VK_0 for numbers) and be written in uppercase. Key combinations are created by combining keys with the + symbol, and multiple combinations should be separated by commas. For example, defining VK_CTRL+VK_ALT+VK+W as key combination would prevent the keyboard shortcut CTRL+ALT+W from typing the | character on the remote computer.
  • Monitor Shortcuts
    • Move to next, previous or all monitors
      • Next monitor: Right Ctrl + Right (custom button)
      • Previous monitor: Right Ctrl + Left (custom button)
      • All monitors: Right Ctrl + Up (custom button)
    • Direct monitor selection (numeric 1-9)
      • Select Monitor: Right Ctrl + Number Keys (1-9)
    • Show monitor shortcuts window on session start
  • System
    • Stream only non-alpha windows (CAPTUREBLT)
      • Set whether the CAPTUREBLT flag will be set for getting server updates. It is used for enabling / disabling the transfer of transparent windows. It is also used in situations when the mouse cursor on the viewed window is not seen (problem has occurred mainly in some Citrix/RDP environments).
    • For faster and reliable screen sharing it is recommended to use automatic selection of desktop streaming method, however, you may choose a specific one (automatic, pooling/hooks, desktop duplication)
    • Manage hardware acceleration settings
    • Use "Desktop duplication" on Windows 8
    • Use "Magnification API" on Windows 8 and up
    • Use deprecated monitor off signal
